Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and his US counterpart Barack Obama Wednesday admitted that there were still differences between the two nations over the issue of US-proposed missile shield in Central Europe.

‘While acknowledging that differences remain over the purposes of deployment of missile defence assets in Europe, we discussed new possibilities for mutual international cooperation in the field of missile defence,’ the two leaders said in a joint statement after their meeting in London.

Washington has agreed with Warsaw and Prague on plans to deploy 10 interceptor missiles in Poland and a radar in the Czech Republic by 2013. The US says the defences are needed to deter possible strikes from ‘rogue states’ such as Iran.

Russia has consistently opposed the missile shield as a threat to its national security and Medvedev threatened last November to deploy Iskander-M missiles in the country’s westernmost exclave of Kaliningrad, which borders NATO members Poland and Lithuania, if the shield was put into operation.

After the defeat of LTTE, Sri Lankan President and officials announced that The government is going to recruit Tamils in police force. For past 30 years, they can’t recruit Tamils in police force because of LTTE issues. But now, Sri Lankan army get all control across the country, so now they are going to offer police force posts for Tamils.

At first stage, the government will recruit 500 post for Tamils. The official said that, more that 600 applications came for these 500 posts. So, It is clear that, Sri Lankan Tamils wishes to be the part of the government. All our aim is “Human Right”. Doesn’t matter, who provides this. Hope Sri Lankan Tamils will get all rights and normal life. Lets wish them for better future.

Here is a great news for all of us. After the successful testing process, the European commission authorized and approved two vaccines for H1N1 which is commonly known as Swine Flu. The two vaccines are Focetria which is manufactured from Swiss pharmaceutical giant Novartis and Pandemrix which is produced by GlaxoSmithKline.

These vaccines will be available in couple of days in all European union countries such as France, England, Iceland and so on. The European Medicines Agency tested these H1N1 vaccines and authorized these vaccines to prevent swine flu. Hope these vaccine will restrict swine flu in couple of months across the world.

Last week, we went to Munaar, Kerala. I really amazed while visited munaar. Wow , Wow ….. what a great place. We should not miss places like this in our life time. Such a beautiful place. ICC champion trophy matches are going on from 2 days. In two groups, all great teams are taken place and showing their talents. As usual all cricket fans, now waiting for India and Pakistan match. Pakistan already played their first match against West Indies and won that match. For India, this is the first match. Already India won Compaq cup tries series at Colombo. After so many losses of series, Indian Team won Compaq tri-series cup 2009. From the three teams India, SriLanka and New Zealand , India and Sri Lanka went through the finals. In the finals, India won the toss and choose to bat. World’s greatest batsman, Sachin Tendulkar scored his 44th century and he finished his innings with 138 runs. He smashed 11 fours and 1 six. Yuvraj and Dhoni scored some useful quick runs and both of them made half-century. India finished their innings with 320 runs which is really a great deal for any team to Chase international cricket.

Sri Lanka’s openers really scored well , Dilshan scored 42 runs with just 29 balls. But after some quick losses of wickets, Sri Lanka can’t touch the target. Harbhajan Singh bowled really great, he took 5 wickets. Finally india won the mach by 43 runs. Man of the match and Man of the series awards were went to Sachin Tendulkar. Hope, this victory lead Indian team to the top of the ODI ranking. Let’s wish Indian Cricket team for their feature series.

2007 year released Tamil film , “Kanchivaram” grabed the best film award at 55th National Award. Actor, Prakash Raaj won the best Actor award for the best performance in this film. For kollywood, totally three awards went to their account. Apart from these two important awards, Tamil cinema also won the best special effects award for the film “Sivaji“, which is directed by Shanker and starred by Super star Rajinikanth.

Kanchivaram , is directed by Priyadharshan and it’s a story of 1930’s rural tamil villege and their culture. It’s really maked and sliced well and ofcourse , won the best film award. Well known tamil star , Mr. Prakash raaj, won the best actor award ones again. It would be a great boost for tamil cinema. Hope all directors and actors will get motivated because of these awards.
